Pop Art Workshop Following the Exhibition Tom Wesselmann: All Out / From the Marie and Jose Mugrabi Collection / Activity for children aged 5+ and their parents (in Hebrew)

Can ice cream be a work of art? And a giant refrigerator? Following the exhibition of Tom Wesselmann, one of the pioneers of Pop Art, we will discover how everyday objects become larger-than-life, humorous works of art. We will look at the artist’s works and learn how he enlarged familiar objects and turned them into artistic objects with a striking presence. We will then choose an everyday object—such as ice cream, a toaster, or fruit—and refashion it as a boldly colorful work of art. We will employ a variety of techniques (including drawing, cutting, and gluing on cardboard), build layers to create a sense of depth, and play with scale.
